Say hello to the best sunless tanner there is — Hempitan by Eco by Sonya Driver. I’ve shared my experience with this product once before, but it’s always fun to revisit favorite products!

I want to start off and share that I’ve never been a huge fan of fake tanners. I have an olive skin tone (and I tan easily in the sun) most tanners I’ve tried either don’t show up on me, turn me an unnatural shade of orange or have an awful smell that I just can’t hang with, so I pretty much wrote off using self tanners. Not to mention, most of the self tanners on the market have a list of ingredients that seem very unsafe. But after discovering Eco by Sonya Driver and reading her brand story I was very intrigued and very excited to try Hempitan for myself. After trying it once, I was hooked. I’ve been using this product almost a year now and can’t live without it.

I love how easy it is to apply Hempitan. It’s a very light formula (it’s a tanning water), so it absorbs quickly into the skin and dries beautifully. So you don’t have to worry about staining on clothing if you have to get dressed shortly after application. I love applying two coats of Hempitan after I get out of the shower. I also prep my elbows and knees with the Coconut Body Milk (right before application) to make sure my drier skin areas don’t get saturated and look uneven. I also use Eco’s Luxurious Double Sided Tan Applicator Mitt which makes the process so much better! Then I carry on with my day and let my tan develop. I prefer to get the most out of the product, so I will wait to shower again another full 24 hours after application. There is little to no smell which is amazing because I am very sensitive to smells and avoid anything with a weird scent or fragrance. Hempitan gives my skin the perfect glow and I love how natural it looks. I always get so many compliments from using this tanner. It makes my skin feel and look gorgeous! It’s a beautiful endless summer.

STEP BY STEP:

Prep skin 24-48 hours before application by exfoliating your entire body, shaving and then moisturizing. *TIP: I use Eco’s Exfoliating Glove on my entire body, shave and then moisturize with the Coconut Body Milk.
Then 24-48 hours later, apply two coats of Hempitan on fleshly washed skin with the Luxurious Double Sided Tan Applicator Mitt. You can spray Hempitan directly on the skin, then using the nonporous side of the mitt, rub it in. Then sit back and relax or carry on with your day and let your tan develop. I usually wait a full 24 hours before taking another shower. *TIP: Right before application, you can add a little of the Coconut Body Milk to your elbows, knees and other dry skin areas so that the product doesn’t stick and create an uneven tan.
Moisturize every day with the Coconut Body Milk to keep your tan fresh in between applications. I swear by this body lotion — and your skin will thank you!
