PARIS
Have you ever traveled somewhere and immediately felt at home?
From the moment we stepped off the train from London, it felt like kismet. There was something strangely familiar about Paris. Maybe it’s from the countless movies I’ve watched over the years… or maybe it’s been an unrequited love story quietly living inside me my whole life — imagining and visualizing myself here.
Either way, it felt like I was stepping into a small piece of my destiny.
Even now, sitting here in the busy Paris airport reflecting on the trip while waiting to board my flight home, I feel an incredible sense of peace. I’m so grateful I finally made it here. It only took me 41 years.
I am beyond grateful to Sonya Driver and her team. To find myself traveling the world again with Eco by Sonya truly blows my mind. I don’t know if I can fully put into words the depth of gratitude I feel. Morocco last summer was extraordinary, and now Paris… it feels like I’m living inside a dream I once quietly wished for.
The way I see life now — the way I experience it — is a testament to never giving up, even when faced with adversity.
Surrounding yourself with people who genuinely believe in you is everything. As Sonya always says, “Ditch the haters.” And honestly, it couldn’t be more true. She feels like a soul sister to me — as does her beautiful daughter Charlotte.
If I could give my younger self one piece of advice, it would be this: find the thing that sparks something inside of you — that feeling of hope, curiosity, and joy.
For me, that was always photography.
Once you find that spark, pour your heart into it. Learn everything you can. Dive deep into its layers and practice it every single day.
Life is an incredible journey, full of chapters, reinvention, and unexpected moments of magic. But through it all, remember this:
You are the main character of your life. Never give up.
Why We Were There
Eco by Sonya sponsored the Flying Solo NYC show during Paris Fashion Week. The show took place in a stunning Parisian venue — the architecture alone was breathtaking and felt so quintessentially Paris. One of my favorite looks was a head-to-toe sequined dress paired with a dramatic head covering. It was absolutely mesmerizing on the runway.
What I Wore
I wore some of my most treasured jewelry pieces paired with an outfit I sourced from the boutique I manage in Florida, called Morley. My top was by Cult Gaia, pants by Veronica Beard, a jacket by Vince, and boots from Zara.
Where We Stayed
We stayed at Château des Fleurs Paris — a beautiful boutique hotel with the most incredible staff. The location was perfect and we were able to walk almost everywhere, which made exploring the city feel effortless.
Where We Ate
Charlotte and I absolutely loved our dinner at Biche. The beef bourguignon was unforgettable — rich, comforting, and perfectly French. Every morning we had breakfast at the hotel, which became a little ritual: a perfect omelet, toast, and coffee to start the day.
What We Did Before & After the Show
We spent most of our time simply walking and exploring the city. Paris is one of those places where every corner feels cinematic, so wandering through the streets and taking it all in was one of the most magical parts of the trip.
Getting Around
Mostly walking, with the occasional Uber.
Something I Learned
Paris felt like an entirely different world — rich in culture, beauty, and history. What struck me most was how polite everyone was. The city itself is breathtaking, but the energy of the people made it even more special.
What I Would Do Differently
Stay longer. There is so much to see and experience — I feel like I only just scratched the surface.
Favorite Part of the Trip
The fashion show was incredible, but honestly some of my favorite moments were the dinners and simply traveling with Charlotte. We always have the best time together, and sharing those experiences made the trip even more memorable.
Something Random That Stood Out
I couldn’t get over how calm and polite everyone seemed — even when crossing busy streets or getting out of an Uber, there was no honking or rushing. For such a big city, it felt surprisingly peaceful.
What I Would Recommend to Visitors
Have dinner at Biche and spend as much time as possible walking the city. Paris is endlessly beautiful, and some of the best moments happen simply by wandering and taking it all in.
